LIFELONG
COMPANIONS

An Aging True & First Coast No More Homeless Pets Partnership to help seniors and their pets remain together for as long as possible.

Lifelong Companions Partnership

Our pets are just as much a member of our family as children and spouses, providing love and companionship to millions of people, including seniors. Studies conducted by the National Library of Medicine have shown that owning a pet can be overwhelmingly positive for seniors’ mental and physical health. Owning a pet, however, can be expensive and physically demanding, with regular medical and living expenses on the rise in recent years.

That is why Aging True is proud to partner with First Coast No More Homeless Pets to help pet-owning seniors in our community to receive the care and resources their cats and dogs need to allow them to remain together for as long as possible.

Ensuring Pets Receive the
Care They Need

First Coast No More Homeless Pets is a 501c3 non-profit whose mission is to make veterinary care affordable and accessible to all as they save lives by keeping dogs and cats in homes and out of shelters, providing low-cost spay/neuter services with an emphasis on feral/community cats, and deliver a broad range of related programs and services. Their multifaceted approach to pet overpopulation includes free and low-cost spay/neuter and innovative pet retention services, along with a variety of other programs.  First Coast No More Homeless Pets recently received a grant to help them extend their services to include seniors age 65+ in their efforts. This grant will be the primary funding for the “Lifelong Companions” partnership with Aging True Senior Services going forward.

Telemedicine: Online Services

First Coast No More Homeless Pets has launched their new Telemedicine service, which allows pet owners to meet one of their many talented, licensed veterinarians via Zoom to discuss everything from wellness questions to medical issues!

Our telemedicine consultations can be for anything from diet, preventative care, vaccination information, some medical issues, or even referrals to a local specialist.
Telemedicine visits can provide peace of mind when transport or scheduling presents a
challenge to in-person visits.
