Things to Remember

  • All volunteers working directly with clients must have a Level 1 Background Screen each year to remain active. If any volunteers volunteer over 20 hours a week, a Level 2 background screen is required. If you aren’t sure of your last screening, please reach out to Christa Martin at the email: [email protected] or call 904-807-1246.

  • If your address or phone number has recently changed, please inform your designated Dropsite Coordinator and notify Christa Martin via email at: [email protected] or call 904-807-1246.

  • The seniors we serve depend on Aging True for so many services. In many cases, our representatives and volunteers are the only faces they see in a day. Please remember that as you interact with our clients, be sure to report any issues directly to Aging True!

Hello, all!

Hope everyone is enjoying our Spring weather! I wanted to check in, and give you a few reminders.

Save the Date! The Florida Council on Aging’s annual “Florida Conference on Aging” is being held at the Hyatt Regency, Orlando, August 5 – 7. You can register now at https://fcoa.org/Conference.

Also, as you may know, April 21 – 27 is National Volunteer Week. At Aging True, we want to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers year-round.

During this time, I would like to reflect upon our Volunteer Value Proposition Statement:

“Aging True relies on volunteers in every aspect of our organization and values the time, talents, and passions those volunteers contribute to achieving our mission.”

Our Give, Get, and Go organizational culture creates an environment where our volunteers have a platform to Give back to their communities, Get personal fulfillment from their volunteerism, Grow in volunteer service with Aging True, and Go into the community as ambassadors and advocate for seniors issues.

We believe that when our volunteers and employees grow, so will the communities we serve.”

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to helping our area’s senior population. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Christa Martin

Upcoming Event: Senior Issues Symposium

 May 9th, 2024 | 650 N. Newnan Street, Jacksonville FL 32202
Our previously scheduled SENIOR ISSUES SYMPOSIUM has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 9th, 2024 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Every day in the United States, 10,000 people turn 65. The number of older adults will more than double over the next several decades and represent over 20% of the population by 2050.

These seniors face challenges including healthcare, homecare, nutrition, isolation, and housing. Aging True has funded programs in place to assist with all these challenges that can be provided at no cost to our seniors.

Join Aging True at our Ashley Square senior living community (650 N. Newnan St., Jacksonville, FL 32202) for a roundtable discussion on how we can better serve our aging population while learning more about our agency and the scope of services that we can provide your congregation.

Church leaders may RSVP to Christa Martin at (904) 807-1246 or [email protected].
